Happy belated Thanksgiving, everyone! We’ve been so busy with work and school that there hasn’t been much time for any updates. However, we put our Christmas decorations up tonight! Here’s our tree and our “First Christmas” ornament. Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season!
Here is the video of our wedding ceremony at St. Anthony’s of Padua in Rocky Point, NY on April 29, 2011. It was filmed by our good friend Rob. We were blessed to be married by Colleen’s Uncle Gary, who is a deacon. There readings were done by Jay’s Aunt Tammy, Colleen’s Grandpa Louie, and Colleen’s Auntie Anne. The actual marrying part begins around 23 minutes and goes until 30 minutes. That’s when Jay says “I do” too early, we sit down before finishing actually getting married, and then have no clue when to sit down again after we light the Unity Candle. Enjoy!
Thank you to everyone who attended, who wished us well, who so generously sent us a card or a gift, etc. It meant the WORLD to us. THANK YOU!
We’re down to the last three weeks! Jay and I had our engagement photos taken by Ken Hild two weeks ago in Port Jefferson, NY. Here’s a picture preview:
P.S. If you still need to the book your hotel, please call the Holiday Inn Express in Riverhead, NY. The Hilton booked up very, very quickly – 30 rooms were gone within a week – and because there’s other wedding parties staying there, we weren’t able to get more rooms. The Holiday Inn Express is very close to the Hilton, however, so call there at (631) 548-1000.
We’re at the 100 day mark! How crazy is that?!
My wedding dress and the bridesmaid dresses have come in. The invitations have been picked out. Jay & I are going to New York the first weekend in February to pick out tuxedos for the guys and hopefully pick out a wedding cake. Things have gone so smoothly so far and I really have my parents to thank for that. They have been so helpful on doing leg work to make it easier for me when I go up to NY to check things out and following up on everything. They are the best!
If you’re booking a room for the wedding, we have a block of rooms at the Hilton Garden Inn in Riverhead, NY. The rate is $129/night and there will be a bus to/from the reception if you’re coming from out of town or want to drink. Just say that you are a part of the McAllister/Glatfelter wedding when you book the room. Rooms must be booked by April 1!
Here’s a funny coincidence:
We know that Prince William and Kate Middleton are getting married on our wedding date, April 29, but I read in People this morning that Princess Diana and Prince Charles got married on July 29, which is our dating anniversary!
How weird is that?!
